Giblets Gazette Ep.9 ft. Sarah McLeod
The Giblets catch up with Superjesus frontwoman Sarah McLeod to discuss why the band has never talked about the reasons they split the first time, how angry religious folk protested outside their gigs in the US, and how the death of one of their most passionate fans affected the band.
We also learn how Superjesus spent a lot of money and time on what Sarah thought was a ripper film clip, but the record company shelved it. It involved digging big holes in the ground and lowering the band members into the holes using mechanical devices. It was replaced by a film clip featuring a disinterested crowd watching a Superjesus gig. I guess that's why the record execs are paid the big bucks.
Also discussed - how the breakup of Sarah's relationship derailed Superjesus's plans to conquer America, whether you need to have read Jane Eyre to perform in a play about Jane Eyre, and how Sarah taught herself piano during Covid lockdowns.
There is general hilarity at the expense of Ross, and his claim that the Superjesus song, Gravity, is on his running playlist. It's suggested it mustn't get played often.
It’s a cracking podcast. Check out the Superjesus website here. And the band are about to go on tour. Check dates here
